Los Angeles:Actor Uli Latukefu has landed the role of villain Ganondorf in Sony and Nintendo’s film "The Legend of Zelda".

The film is based on the video game and will feature the actor as a powerful warlock king driven to dominate protagonists Link and Princess Zelda’s kingdom of Hyrule. It will release on May 7, 2027, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.

Actors Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth are leading the film and will essay the roles of Zelda and Link.

It is directed by Wes Ball, known for the "Maze Runner" trilogy and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes", among others. The film is produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, the co-creator of the original video game and Avi Arad under Arad Productions.

The video game series released in 1986 and revolved around Link as he explores worlds, solves puzzles, and fights monsters to save Princess Zelda and the kingdom of Hyrule from Ganon

Latukefu, who has reportedly signed a multi-picture deal with the franchise, had his acting debut in 2014, appearing as "Kool Kris" in the Australian mockumentary television miniseries "Jonah from Tonga".

He last featured in "MaXXXine". The actor essayed the role of Shephard Turei in the film.
