Los Angeles: Actor Peter Sarsgaard, known for hits like ‘Knight And Day’, ‘Orphan ’, is the latest addition to the cast of Paramount+'s Scottish Highland series ‘Laird’.
‘Laird’ is directed by Joe Wright and is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.
It will feature the actor as Peter Bergstrom alongside Kenneth Branagh, who essays the role of Laird of Castle Drummoch in the series.
The series is set in the modern Scottish Highlands and revolves around a proud Scot who defies a shadowy American billionaire (Sarsgaard) hell-bent on buying up the glens.
Amidst family feuds, buried secrets and star-crossed romances, the Laird of Castle Drummoch (Branagh) remains determined to protect his ancestral lands from oligarchic land grabbing.
Created by Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, the series is executive produced by Branagh alongside David C Glasser, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, Wright, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Charles Finch and Keith Cox.
The actor will also feature in ‘Erosion’, directed by Michael Koch, and the cyberpunk series adaptation based on William Gibson's novel ‘Neuromancer ', among others.
