New York: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, in his visit to the United States, is exploring opportunities for greater investment and business partnerships with India. As part of the visit, he held meetings with senior executives from Blackstone, Neuberger Berman and The Estée Lauder Companies.
Goyal met and spoke with Blackstone President and COO Jonathan Grey and Prakash Melwani, Chairman of Blackstone Private Equity business, to build business opportunities with the aid of the company’s investments and partnerships in key sectors.
He also held talks with Chairman Nuberger Berman and CEO George Walker regarding strengthening investment linkages with India and partnerships in economic management.

Goyal emphasised that India’s resilient macroeconomic fundamentals and deepening capital markets offer remarkable opportunities for global investors.
The minister also met Stéphane de La Faverie, President and CEO of Estée Lauder Companies. They discussed key notions on the possibilities of expanding the company’s presence in India, which is a fast-growing personal care and beauty market.
Goyal is in the United States as part of his G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Minister Goyal was in the US to attend the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the invitation of the US Trade Representative (USTR). Goyal’s focus was on building bilateral trade with his counterparts and ensuring expanding opportunities for farmers, fishermen, women entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs and other enterprises.
