Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has inaugurated his refurbished MLA office at Perambur on Monday.
The upgraded facility in Sharma Nagar First Street in Vyasarpadi includes a dedicated workspace for the chief minister, CCTV surveillance and a 10-member staff tasked with managing daily public petitions, according to official sources.
Perambur is Vijay's home constituency. This is the chief minister's first official visit to the constituency since assuming office.
The actor-turned-politician also unveiled a technology-driven public grievance mobile application specifically for Perambur residents. The app allows citizens to directly submit and track complaints related to electricity, water supply, roads, sanitation, and access to government welfare schemes.
Vijay contested and won from both the Perambur and Tiruchy East constituencies, eventually vacating the Tiruchy East seat to retain Perambur.
Vijay was sworn in as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu on May 26.
Two years after launching the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), he piloted his party to win 107 seats in the 234-member Assembly.
Despite lacking an absolute majority of 118, he formed the coalition government with the support of the Congress, Left parties, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).
