Flooding and flash floods in Nepal’s districts bordering Tibet have caused casualties, damage to infrastructure and disruption to communities, with rescue and relief operations continuing in affected areas.
Authorities and emergency agencies are coordinating search-and-rescue efforts, while local teams are working to reach people stranded or displaced by the floods. Roads, bridges and other key infrastructure have also been affected, making access to some areas difficult.
People in affected regions are being advised to follow instructions from local authorities and avoid flood-affected roads and riverbanks. Families trying to locate missing or stranded relatives should contact Nepal’s emergency and district-level authorities for the latest information.
As rescue operations continue, casualty and missing-person figures may change as teams gain access to areas cut off by flooding and debris.
