Keralam: Voting is underway in the 38 local body wards across 12 districts that went to bypolls on Monday in Keralam. With 126 candidates in the fray, the voting is being held from 7 am to 6 pm.
This marks the first instance of a bypoll under the VD Satheesan-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government and is widely seen as a litmus test of the same.
Except Kollam and Alappuzha, all the rest of the districts host wards going to the bypolls.
The bypolls are being conducted to three district panchayat wards, two corporation wards, three municipality wards, seven block panchayat wards and 23 gram panchayat wards across the 12 districts.
The counting of the votes will be held on September 29.
