India are slowly making their way up the medals table in the Asian Games with a silver to go along with a bronze in Aichi-Nagoya on Sunday.
India secured a silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle team event through Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod.
Earlier, MMA fighter Suchika Tariyal bagged India's first medal in the Games with a bronze medal in the 60kg category of Traditional MMA.
In the shooting event, the Indian team shot a total of 1898.0 points to finish second behind China, who topped with a world-record score of 1904.2. Hosts Japan finished third with 1897.1 points.
Shooters are India's regular medal hunters as they secured 22 from the last edition in Hangzhou, comprising seven gold.
Heavyweights China have taken an early lead in the medal hunt, with seven in the bag, including two gold, four silver and a bronze. Japan have secured two gold already, and Indians would be eager to see who brings home the first gold.
India secured 106 medals in the 2022 edition, including 28 gold.
