India vs Sri Lanka LIVE: India win toss, elect to bat in Asian Games women’s final
India and Sri Lanka will renew their rivalry in the women’s cricket final at the Asian Games as the two sides are set to face each other in the gold-medal match for the second consecutive edition. The last time both the teams met was at
Hangzhou 2023, when India defeated Sri Lanka to take the championship.
The women in blue have advanced to the final in dominant fashion. They began their knockout campaign with an eight-wicket victory over hosts Japan before producing an even more emphatic performance against Bangladesh in the semi-final, winning by 114 runs.
Sri Lanka have also enjoyed a strong run through the competition. They overcame Malaysia by 86 runs in the quarter-final and followed that with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Pakistan in the last four.
The two teams also faced each other recently in the Asia Cup final in Dubai on September 13, where India once again came out on top, securing a 72-run victory.
With both teams arriving in the final after convincing wins, the stage is set for another India-Sri Lanka showdown with the Asian Games gold medal at stake.
