Nagoya: The Indian trio of Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Vinod and Ashi Chouksey won the silver medal in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions team event at the Asian Games on Saturday, while the first two shooters also qualified for the individual final.
India finished second with an aggregate score of 1763. China won the gold medal with a Games record of 1773, while Kazakhstan took bronze with 1754 after a closely contested competition.
In the individual qualification, Ashi and Tilottama both placed in the top three after the kneeling and prone stages. Ashi recorded 395-25x, while Tilottama finished with 395-23x ahead of the standing stage.
World number 15 Vidarsa produced a strong recovery to finish sixth in the qualification with a total of 588.
Tilottama, ranked 107th in the world, entered the eight-shooter final in third place after scoring 590 across the three stages of kneeling, prone and standing.
World number 18 Ashi, who had been performing strongly at one stage of the qualification, finished with 585.
