India defeated South Korea 2-0 to enter the women's hockey final of Asian Games 2026 in Japan.
India will play China in the final match on October 2, aiming to secure a first gold medal in the women's category since 1982. Indian women were bronze medallists in the previous edition at Hangzhou.
Ishika (44) and Salima Tete (48) scored in the semifinal. China edged hosts Japan in the other semifinal in shootout.
Indian men, who are the defending champions, have a chance to book another final but must defeat arch-rivals Pakistan in the semifinal on October 1.
The second semifinal in the men's category will be played between Malaysia and South Korea. The gold medallists will earn a direct qualification to the Los Angeles Olympics.
