New Delhi: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio virtually addressed a conference of American ambassadors from South and Central Asia in New Delhi, hosted by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor.
The Ambassadors Regional Conference brought together US ambassadors and Chiefs of Mission from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to discuss regional priorities and diplomatic engagement.

"It was great to speak with US Ambassadors and Chiefs of Mission from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka," he said.
"Our Ambassadors are proudly making America safer, stronger, and more prosperous," Rubio said.
Gor also welcomed the ambassadors and Chiefs of Mission to India, saying, "Great to have all our SCA Ambassadors in India!"
Gor has recently travelled to several parts of India after taking charge as the US Ambassador to India. On Monday, he visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
During a visit to Rajasthan, he also witnessed Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026 and the second edition of the multinational air exercise Tarang Shakti.
Rubio is scheduled to visit Uzbekistan in mid-October with a business delegation of more than 100 American companies to advance the US-Central Asia strategic partnership and strengthen bilateral diplomatic and commercial cooperation.
During his visit to Samarkand, Rubio will also participate in the C5+1 Ministerial alongside the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
