Riyadh: Three people were killed in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday in separate attacks on an Aramco-operated oil field and the King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, authorities said.

The kingdom's Energy Ministry said on Wednesday that debris from an intercepted drone killed two people and injured two others at an Aramco-operated oil field in the country's southeast.

In a separate attack targeting King Fahd International Airport in Dammam on Wednesday evening, at least one person has died, and eight others have been injured, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced.

The attack on Aramco oil field

The Energy ministry said that the two people killed by falling debris at the Aramco field were Nepali and Filipino nationals, while the injured were Pakistani and Indian nationals.

The falling debris also sparked a fire in a contractor's vehicle at the Shaybah oil field, the ministry said in a statement.

Saudi Arabia has been seeing multiple attacks on its airports and oil facilities launched by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The attack on Dammam airport

The Kingdom's GACA announced that at least one person has died, and eight others were injured in the attack targeting Dammam airport.

According to an official statement released by GACA, the eight injured, with severity ranging from minor to critical, have been taken to the hospital for medical care.

In a statement posted on X, GACA said, "The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announces that King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was targeted by an attack on the evening of Wednesday, October 21, 2026, corresponding to 10 Jumada Al-Awwal 1448 AH."

The civil aviation authority further stated that the attack also damaged property, with the extent of damage being examined.

"The attack resulted in the fatality of a resident, may Allah bestow His mercy upon him, and injuries to (8) others, ranging from minor to critical. All injured individuals were immediately transported to hospital to receive the necessary medical care. The attack also caused property damage, the extent of which is currently being assessed. Further updates will be provided," it added.

Intensified Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Last month, debris from an intercepted Houthi drone killed a Yemeni resident of Saudi Arabia. It is the first civilian casualty since the Houthis have increased their attacks against the kingdom, targeting Saudi shipping and oil facilities.

Earlier this month, a limited fire broke out in an administrative building at Aramco, one of the world's largest oil facilities, that was targeted in an attack in the country's Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy said at the time.

The attacks come as the Houthis and the Saudi coalition continue to fight in Yemen, breaking a four-year truce. The fighting in Yemen marked a fresh escalation in the widening West Asia crisis.

On Wednesday, Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport was open for domestic flights following multiple Houthi strikes on the Saudi capital this month.
