Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Wednesday travelled by Metro train and reviewed the operations of the CMRL at its headquarters in Nandanam, officials said.
He travelled from Omandurar Metro station to Nandanam in the afternoon, accompanied by state minister for Finance, Planning and Development N Marie Wilson and senior Chennai Metro Rail Limited officials.
The CM purchased a ticket for the journey and interacted with commuters, many of whom took selfies with him.
Later, he inspected the ongoing Metro Rail works in Guindy and discussed the progress of various projects with officials, sources said.
He subsequently travelled by Metro from Porur to Poonamallee, taking a window seat, and inspected the construction work at Kathipara.
A large number of commuters travelled on the Metro train along with the CM.
