India's star opener Smriti Mandhana became the first women's player to score 11,000 runs in international cricket. She achieved the milestone with an entertaining 79 in the Asian Games final against Sri Lanka at Nisshin in Japan on Tuesday.

The left-hander was already the leading run-getter across Tests, ODIs and T20Is, and has taken her tally to 11,066. Former India captain Mithali Raj is second on the all-time list with 10,868 runs, followed by New Zealand's Suzie Bates (10,740).
Smriti recently surpassed Bates as the leading run-getter in women's T20Is during India's semifinal against Bangladesh.
She has a host of other records under her belt, including the most centuries (18) in women's cricket and the highest individual score by an Indian woman in T20Is (124).
Mandhana played a huge role in the ongoing Asian Games final, laying the foundation for a massive total of 216/3. She had scored a half century (59) in the Asia Cup final, also against Sri Lanka, in Dubai earlier this month.
Who leads the tally in men's cricket?
There are no points for guessing. Of course it is Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian cricket great retired with a whopping 34,357 runs in the bag.
Virat Kohli is second on the list with 28,359 runs in international cricket. But with Kohli retiring from Tests and T20Is, Sachin's record might not be surpassed in a very long time.
Among the top-10 run-getters, only Joe Root of England remains active, with 21,774 runs. Kumar Sangakkara (28,016), Ricky Ponting (27,368) and Mahela Jayawardene (25,957) make up the top-five.
