Pakistan have booked their berth in the men's cricket final at the Asian Games 2026. Sahibzada Farhan's side defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the first semifinal at Nisshin.
India are taking on Sri Lanka in the second semifinal. India are the defending champions, and it would be a memorable gold-medal clash if the holders meet their arch-rivals.
Both India and Pakistan reached the semifinals without playing a ball, as their previous round fixtures were washed out.
The first semifinal was reduced to 13 overs per side due to a wet outfield. Bangladesh were restricted to 111/7, with Towhid Hridoy top-scoring with 42 runs.
In response, Abdul Samad's unbeaten 30 off 15, supported by Hasan Nawaz's 27 not out off 22, gave Pakistan victory, with nine balls to spare.
Should India reach the final, it would be a dream clash between the arch-rivals since their meeting in the T20 World Cup in February, which India won by 61 runs.
Brief scores: Bangladesh 111/7 in 13 overs (Towhid Hridoy 42, Sufyan Moqim 3/26, Arafat Minhas 2/23) lost to Pakistan 112/4 in 11.3 overs (Abdul Samad 30 not out, Hasan Nawaz 27 not out, Saim Ayub 21)
