Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a 14-year career that saw him become a key figure in Australia's white-ball teams.

The 38-year-old last represented Australia against Oman in the team's final match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, a tournament in which Australia failed to progress beyond the group stage.

Maxwell had already retired from One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in June 2025 but remained available for T20Is, including the 2026 World Cup.

Maxwell played 286 international matches for Australia across formats, including 149 ODIs, 130 T20Is and seven Tests.

He was part of Australia's ODI World Cup-winning squads in 2015 and 2023, as well as the team that lifted the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2021.

Known for his aggressive batting and ability to accelerate the scoring rate, Maxwell played a significant role in Australia's limited-overs cricket.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Maxwell scored 3,990 runs in ODIs at a strike rate of 126.7 and accumulated 2,897 runs in T20Is at a strike rate of 154.4.

He finished his international career with ten centuries and 136 wickets across formats.
